Useful websites
Trawling the web for sites to help support you in your teaching can be fun – but it can also prove frustrating and time consuming.
The Twenty First Century Science team has done a lot of the work for you already. Just click the 'Useful websites' link at the top right of this page, and choose the module you are interested in.
For each module, B1–7, C1–7, P1–7, A1–6, there are dedicated pages of links to a selection of websites that we think will be useful for you and/or your students together with brief descriptions of the sites to help you choose which to visit. We periodically check that these links are still working, but please let us know if any are not by clicking here.
We also add new ones as appropriate. For example, for C1 Air quality, we have just added the following link:
http://www.care4air.org/yp_home.html
The Learn to Care4Air subsite of the Care4Air site has been designed for GCSE science students. There are sections on air pollutants, measuring air pollutants, using diffusion tubes, using air-quality data, and greenhouse gases. It has been developed, with help from Twenty First Century Science, by professionals involved in the Care4Air campaign to improve air quality across South Yorkshire. In particular, it demonstrates how air quality is being monitored on a regular basis and provides some air-quality data and suggested activities. The site will be useful with the modules C1 Air quality and P2 Radiation and life, and for some students as a starting point for their individual case study.
